NCSU Design Grad Aly Khalifa on WUNC radio

A great interview aired today on the current state of design in the Triangle including a segment on Richard Florida, The Creative Class, & urban revitalization.  Props to Aly for noting that the phrase “Creative Class” runs counter to the more noble ideals of social equity and community building supported by good design process.

When Aly Khalifa finds an idea, it takes hold of him. He’s invented many products, including a revolutionary design for a reusable tea infuser. He’s also a founder of the Raleigh-based DesignBox creative collaborative and of the annual SparkCon festival in Raleigh. He’ll talk with host Frank Stasio about ideas and making innovation work in a variety of forums.
