The position description:
This position is a full time, non-tenure track, 100% teaching/advising, 9 month (academic year) renewable term appointment.
Teaching responsibilities in MLA, BSLA and Associates degree programs may include: design studios, CAD, construction materials and graphic representation/presentation. Other duties include student mentoring, advising and departmental service. A commitment to quality design teaching is essential. Competence in the use and application of computer aided drawing and illustration programs is highly desirable.
Candidates are expected to have a Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture, and a demonstrated capacity for teaching and/or professional experience in private or public practice. Experience with a wide range of design projects is desirable. Candidates should have strong technical and computer skills, including preparation and administration of construction documents, CAD, document and web design and use of visualization/ representation media.
Professional experience with or willingness to teach sustainable landscape design and practice is desirable. Professional licensure is desirable. While the areas of potential expertise and interest are diverse and flexible, there is an expectation of an explicit emphasis on design expression and implementation.
