Description of WorkPromote the planning, construction, maintenance and management of
trails within 30 counties in piedmont North Carolina. Responsible for
providing: statewide and regional trail planning support; consultation
and technical assistance; educational services; and grants management
services to North Carolina State Parks, governmental agencies and non-
profit organizations. Duty station location in Raleigh.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge and ability in the following fields are essential: regional
planning and analysis; knowledge of trail planning, design and
construction methods/practices; experience in the management of grant
programs at the applicant/grantee level. Knowledge and ability in the
following fields are preferred: resource management, planning, land
management, marketing skills, and business management.

Training and Experience Requirements

Graduation from a four year college or university with a major in
Natural Resource Management, Parks & Recreation Administration,
Landscape Architecture, Regional Planning, Business, or a related
field and two years of related experience; equivalent combination of
training and experience. A Master’s degree in one of these areas or a
related number of hours in the graduate program. Degrees must be from
appropriately accredited institutions.
