Triangle Transit BUS ART – call for artists!!

from the Triangle Transit Authority…

“Redefine Travel and Triangle Transit are in need of artists!

In honor of world car-free day on September 22, Triangle Transit will be temporarily transforming one of their buses into an art gallery for the day! We are currently looking for artists to design and build an installation for the interior of the bus.

The bus will be parked in the Brickyard (at NC State) and will be open to the public to visit and enjoy from 10am to 7pm on Wednesday, September 22. The work must be removable and installed in a way as to not damage the inside of the bus. Otherwise, artists will have free reign and a several hours that morning to install their design. A sustainability/“green” theme is encouraged but not required. RDT will fund $300 for art supplies, promote the artists and event to news sources, and of course credit the artists on site.

** This is a great opportunity to showcase your creativity and gain exposure for your work. It’s a new and unique endeavor, and we are expecting great public interest and media attention.

We are willing to work with an individual artist or a collaboration for this project. Interested artists should email Lauren Ramsey at lramsey@ncsu.edu with a written design proposal by August 30th.
